Pauline Goerge

Pauline Goerge, 88 of Grand Ledge passed away August 11, 2021. Pauline was born January 30, 1933 in Westphalia, MI to the late John and Alvina (Arens) Martin. She graduated from St. Mary High School in Westphalia with the class of 1951. She placed great importance on her faith life and prayer. Pauline was proud to be a stay-at-home mom, raising five wonderful daughters. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She served others by providing in home care to people across the area for many years. Pauline enjoyed baking, sewing, music, crocheting as well as reading and perusing books such as historical literature. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many dear friends at her living community in Grand Ledge. She is survived by her daughters, Marlene Sawdy of Grand Ledge, MI; Diane (Mike) Koenigsknecht of Fowler, MI; Dr. Nancy Washburn of The Woodlands, TX; Sharon (Fred) Bednarski of Austin, TX; Jane Goerge of Saline, MI; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; also survived by siblings, Alice (Jim) Becker, Catherine (Clair) Thelen, and Jack Martin; and sisters-in-laws Bernadine Martin and Adelene Martin and many nieces and nephews. Pauline was preceded in death by grandson R. Justin Allemier; sisters, Genevieve Simon and Eileen Schafer; brothers, Robert, Clifford, and Dale Martin; and in-laws, Marie Martin, Clarence Simon and Bernard Schafer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 20, 2021, 11:00 am at St. Michael Catholic Church, Grand Ledge by The Reverend Fr. James Eisele. Rite of Committal will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4:00 pm and 6-8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:30 pm at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge and Friday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the mass at 11:00 am.
