Nancy Jean Tomlinson

Nancy Jean Tomlinson, a beloved resident of Eagle, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on June 26, 2025, at the age of 88. Jean was born on January 15, 1937, in Grand Ledge, Michigan, to the late George and Mary (Newman) Legal. She graduated from Grand Ledge High School as a proud member of the Class of 1956. Jean led a life devoted to family. While she began her career as a bookkeeper at Sears and later served as an Administrative Assistant in an attorney's office, her true passion was caring for her family and supporting her husband on their dairy farm in Eagle. She was a nurturing homemaker whose love for her family was evident in everything she did. A longstanding and faithful member of St. Michael Parish, Jean's commitment to her faith was an integral part of her life. She brought joy to those around her with her warm spirit, quick wit, and delightful sense of humor. An animal lover at heart, Jean had a special affection for her parakeets and Persian cats, reflecting her kind and gentle nature. Jean is survived by her children: Michael (Karen), Rich (Molly), and Jeff (Yseult) Tomlinson, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Emma (Jon) Bargenquast, Sarah (Alex) Dumbauld, Nate, Ben and Noelle; twin brother, Jim (Bonnie) Legal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 2018; daughter, Deborah in 2020 along with sisters, Lena Adams, Rose Holland, and Matilda Kollman. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire her family and all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Grand Ledge by The Reverend Fr. James Eisele.
