Mary Evelyn Ladd

Mary Evelyn Ladd, a beloved sister, devoted friend, and loving aunt, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 18, 1965, in Wayne, Michigan, Mary was the cherished daughter of the late Floyd N. and Novella A. (Tribble) Ladd. Mary graduated from John Glenn High School in Westland in 1983, where she laid the foundation for a life rich in learning and achievement. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan in Dearborn, and used her education to serve the community as a Manager for the State of Michigan DTMB. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her commitment to her family and friends, which she treasured above all else. In her youth, Mary was an accomplished violinist, even playing with the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra as a guest. An avid traveler, Mary had a passion for exploring the world, with cruising as one of her favorite pastimes. However, it was the relationships she fostered throughout her life that truly brought her joy and fulfillment. Her kindness, generosity, and warmth will be missed by all who knew her. Mary is survived by her beloved brother, Mark Ladd, who will carry forward her memory and spirit; niece, Mirjam Ladd; nephew, Noel Ladd; goddaughters, Emily (Jake) Epling and Maria Buchholz, along with her lifelong friend, Kathy Buchholz. Mary was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Susanne Ladd. Funeral services for Mary Evelyn Ladd will be held on Thursday, October 30 at 11:00 a.m, at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 am until 11:00 with her ceremony following, celebrating her life and legacy. Family and friends will gather to honor her and share their cherished memories, ensuring that her kindness and love continue to echo in their hearts.
