Kristina Nicole Chance

Kristina Nicole Chance, 45, of Holt, MI, passed away on October 13, 2024, at McLaren Hospital in Lansing, MI. Kristina was born on October 22, 1978, in Lansing, MI, to Virgil and Linda Swaynie. Kristina was a lifelong resident of Holt, MI, graduating with the class of 1996. She married Jason A. Chance on May 12, 2001. Kristina remained the definition of loyal and was unwavering in her love and dedication to her family. The absolute joy of her life was becoming a mother. Kristina’s love and pride for her children exceeded any other accomplishment she had. Settling in on the couch to watch movies, read her favorite book series Harry Potter, and play video games with her kids was her favorite way to spend her time. She was a fierce UofM fan and loved cheering on the Detroit Lions with her boyfriend Justin. Moments such as these were the ones Kristina cherished the most. In her strength, with love she passed these moments on to the ones she loved the most in this world. Kristina is survived by her three children, Tyler (Kayleigh), Shelby, and Riley; parents, Virgil and Linda Swaynie; brother, Josh (Sarah) and nephew, Mason Swaynie; surviving partner, Justin Miller; Grandmother, Kay Wilson; Aunt, Shannon (Scott) Morehouse; half-sister, Shannon (Leonard) Woods; cousins Brandi (Joey), Rachael (Jordan), and many more close family and friends. Kristina is preceded in death by her husband, Jason, Grandmother, Betty Swaynie, Great Grandmother, Clara Thompson, as well as many other loved ones who held a special place in her heart. “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light" -Albus Dumbledore A funeral service will be held Friday, October 18, 2024, 1:00 PM at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge with Pastor Bill Wangelin of Our Savior Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Holt.
