Janiece J. Frace

Janiece Jeanne (Snyder) Frace, beautiful wife, mother, friend and longtime Grand Ledge nurse peacefully left this world for the starfields on Sunday June 2nd at her home with her daughters by her side. Born January 28, 1944 in Lansing, Michigan to loving parents Raymond & Justine (Malcuit) Snyder, Janiece attended Washington School, active in 4H, played the accordion and graduated from Charlotte High School in 1962. She then went on to nursing school in Lansing pursuing her enthusiasm for healing and caring. Janiece received her LPN degree in 1964 and after having her three children Marci, Sadie & Wes, worked in Grand Ledge for various physicians where she adored and was adored by "her" patients and peers. During high school, working as a soda-jerk at Brown's Pharmacy in Charlotte, Janiece met Gary, the love of her life and were married March 28, 1964. Together with their blossoming family, she and Gary, then co-owner of Grand Pharmacy, moved to Grand Ledge where they were very active in their children's lives/activities and took great interest in their community as active members of the GL Child Study Club, Harmony Club and involved themselves in various other social events. Janiece thrived on her farm, gardening, baking, antiquing, and looking forward to family gatherings, holidays and special occasions with her beloved. She also loved adventurous vacationing with her family, enjoying summers at their Crystal Lake cottage, and traveling to relax at their Gulf beach condo in Venice, Florida. She was a sage, strong, independent and humorous woman who was well respected, and proud of her homes, gardens, and relationships. Living on through Janiece are her two extraordinary daughters, Marcella "Marci" & Mercedes Alison "Sadie". Her spirit lives on in her cherished grandchildren, Liza Josephine Buckley and Julius Frace. Janiece is survived by her siblings Cathy (Alan) Snyder-Baird, Michael (JoDean) Snyder, and Michelle (James) Mitchum along with several nieces/nephews and cousins. Janiece was preceded in death by her husband, Gary J. Frace December 1, 2018, her parents and her grandparents Bertha (Ward) & Charles Malcuit. Deep gratitude goes out to the constellation of friends and family who have supported Janiece and her daughters during this time. We will celebrate Janiece's life with an open visitation held June 27th at Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge from 4-7:00 pm.
