Freida Leona Schneeberger

GRAND LEDGE - Freida Leona Schneeberger passed away December 20th, 2022. Freida was born August 19th, 1945 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Kenneth and Nellie (Dickenson) Willis. She graduated from Grand Ledge High School in 1963, finishing as class Valedictorian, and continued on to receive a Master’s Degree from Michigan State University. She met her husband John as a sophomore in high school, whom she married on June 10th, 1967. Following graduation, Freida became a teacher at Holbrook Elementary in Grand Ledge. After her daughter (Amy) and son (Dru) were born, Freida was a stay-at-home mom. Upon raising two wonderful children, Freida continued her education and became an Independent Registered Investment Advisor with TransAmerica Financial Services, building an established business, receiving numerous certifications. She was a lifetime servant as a faithful member of the Grand Ledge First Congregational United Church of Christ where she was active in various committees, including the Choir, Koinonia, and Endowment Board. She served her community as a volunteer with various charities, namely Meals-On-Wheels for over 40 years. Freida was a woman of unwavering faith who loved her family profoundly. She and John traveled to Europe, the entire Caribbean, and all of the 50 states including Alaska and Hawaii. She never missed an opportunity to read a book, do a crossword puzzle, or enjoy a good cup of coffee. To sum Freida up, she loved her Church, Family, Education and Travel. She was fortunate to have her family with her at the time of her passing. She is survived by her loving husband, John, sharing life together 62 years, in marriage for 55. Her Daughter Amy (Jim) Nevius, grandson Gage Baldwin; Son Dru (Lorie) Schneeberger, grandchildren, Ava and Jackson Schneeberger. A Funeral service will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home in Grand Ledge.
