Deborah J. Hayes

Prophetess Deborah J. Hayes of New Creation Church in Lansing, went to be with the Lord and reunited with her love ones that have gone on before September 22, 2024. Deborah was born September 9, 1951 to the late Donald W. and Barbara A. (Sawyer) Keller. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. Deb attended Grand Ledge High School, worked as a medical assistant at Provincial House, and retired from Haven Home as a home health care giver. She enjoyed working with her hands and showed her artistry and creativity through crafts, scrap booking, cooking, baking, sewing, and anything that she could create to help aide and assist anyone who was in need. She cherished Christmas & Holy week for the opportunity of honoring the gospel of Jesus Christ. Deb made many memorable moments including, providing shelters with personalized gifts to demonstrate the true meaning of the celebrations. Deb also known as "Tee" to many of her nieces and nephews enjoyed all of the children and became a surrogate mother for some that were without She was a servant and a selfless woman who often put the needs of others before herself. She was described as loyal to a fault, a virtuous woman. She will be missed by her family, friends, and the many lives that she touched. She is survived by her children, Carey (Billy) Lewis, James W. Hayes, Leslie (Rollie) Stephens, and Willie F. Hayes II; grandchildren, Benjamin Hayes, Gregory and Reuben (Tiesha) Fox, Jacorey (Michal Joy) and Riviera Mitchell, Hannah Gardner, Alyssa, James, Atalaya and Alanna Morse, Rollie J. Stephens and Jacob Hayes, along with twenty great grandchildren; siblings, Davida A. Giffen, Donald W. (Sandy) Keller, Matthew K. Keller, Scott D. Keller along with numerous nieces and nephews. Deb was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Reverend Willie F. Hayes who passed away on March 1, 2024; brother, John W. Keller, and brother-in-law, James Giffen. A Celebration of Deb and Willie's life will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 1-3:00 PM at the Causeway Bay Hotel and Convention Center, 6820 S. Cedar Street, Lansing, Michigan 48911.
