Shirley Lynn Meyer

November 15, 1953 - February 24, 2022

Shirley Lynn Meyer of Grand Ledge, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cat mom, and friend, went to be with the Lord February 24, 2022, at home with her loving family by her side. Shirley was born November 15, 1953, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Frank and Gertrude (Dykstra) Meerman. She graduated from Hudsonville Unity Christian High School Class of 1971. Shirley had a long career with Meijer, retiring after 43 years of service. She was a faithful member of Eastmanville Christian Reformed Church and Mt. Hope Church in Lansing while living in Grand Ledge. Shirley delighted in praising and worshiping the Lord. She loved camping and days spent at the beach, especially Grand Haven State Park. Shirley cherished time spent with her family and friends and will be missed in part for her generous, kind, loving, and radiant spirit. She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Meyer; dad, Frank Meerman; sisters, Sharon Meerman, Barb (Roger) Breen, Luanne (Jeff) Modderman and Bev (Mark) Wilson; brother, Lon Meerman along with longtime friend, Henry Meyer. Shirley was preceded in death by her mom, Gertrude Meerman. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 4, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. Visitation will be Friday one hour prior to the service.
