Sarah Johnstone of Delta Township passed away February 11, 2022 with her loving family by her side. She was born June 9, 1946 in Calderbank, Scotland to the late James and Sarah (Lambie) Whalen. Sarah is retired from the State of Michigan. She was proud of her Scottish heritage and always looked forward to the annual Burns Night Supper and dancing. Sarah enjoyed playing golf, attending hockey games, and was an animal lover. She is survived by her children, Christopher (Nikki Bowles) and Jacqueline (Mark) Toth; grandchildren, Jacob, David, Autumn, Kali, Nicole, Zachary and Dakota; great grandchildren, Alba, Collette, Carson, Azaleah, Kashtyn and Rhett; siblings, Nan Stackable, Catherine (Butch) Campbell, Patricia Reilley, Moira (Bill) Venuti, Helen (Doug) Walley, Gemma (John) Scherbarth, Bobby (Yvonne) Whalen and James (Sharon) Whalen; sisters-in-law Margaret Lambie, Twila Whalen, and Candy Whalen. Sarah was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Crawford and Betty McGuigan; brothers, Harry Lambie, Tommy Whalen, John Whalen, Alec Whalen and Michael Whalen; brothers-in-law, Ward Reilley, Ed Stackable, Jim Crawford and Owen McGuigan. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 18, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions in Sarah’s name may be given to the Capital Area Humane Society, 7095 W.
