Robert Scott Alkema of Eagle passed away January 20, 2021. Scott was born August 7, 1958 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Robert A. and Helen L. (Babick) Alkema. He graduated from West Bloomfield High School Class of 1976 and went on to attend Michigan State University, graduating in 1980. Scott was a retired Claims Manager with AAA Insurance in Lansing. He was a pretty handy guy and enjoyed yard work and maintenence work at his homes or cottage. He had a great love of dogs and had rescued numerous dogs through the years. Scott also enjoyed the ride with his dogs to the cottage at Canadian Lakes where he would treat his favorite companions to a day at the lake. He is survived by his best friend and partner, Dena Ellis; son, Robert Justin; sister, Susan Tayor; niece, Ashley (Eddie) Clegg; great nephew, Nokoa along with Dena’s sons, Cameron Freund and Christian Kebler. A private family Celebration of Scott’s life will be held at a later time. Memorial contributions in Scott’s name may be given to the Capital Area Humane Society, 7095 W.
