Leah Marie Fors

May 9, 1931 - August 14, 2021

Leah Marie Fors of Grand Ledge passed away August 14, 2021 with her loving family by her side. Leah was born May 9, 1931 in White Cloud, Michigan to the late George E. and Amy M. (Norton) Douglas. She graduated from Big Rapids High School Class of 1949. She worked as a Credit Manager for the Big Rapids Community Hospital for many years and ultimately retired from Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing. Leah was a wonderful cook and baker and her family always looked forward to getting together at the holidays and especially looked forward to Leah’s homemade party mix which was a family favorite. She enjoyed dancing with her husband Bud. Leah also looked forward to getting together with her Bible study group each week, which became a close-knit fellowship. Leah was a strong independent woman who successfully fought through breast cancer along with a number of other health challenges throughout her life. She always kept a good attitude and was determined to get better and keep moving forward. She made her family the priority and cherished her grandson, Kyle who called her MiMi along with all of his friends, and she loved it! The special bond that Leah had with Kyle was made even stronger with the time she devoted to attending all of his sporting events from the time he was in kindergarten through college and most recently as he coached football and track. She is survived by her daughter, Shelly (Jim) Robinson; grandson, Kyle Robinson and his girlfriend, Amanda Mort; dear friend, Lee along with her special nieces and nephews. Leah was preceded in death by her husband, Preston “Bud” Fors on February 5, 2008. A private family graveside service will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
