Jack L. Hankins of Grand Ledge passed away May 25, 2016. Jack was born June 22, 1931 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Jack and Ruby (White) Hankins. He attended Grand Ledge High School andwas a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Coral Sea during the Korean War. Jack served the majority of his career in law enforcement working for both Eaton and Jackson Co. Sheriff’s Departments and also the Michigan Department of Corrections. He was an avid deer hunter and volunteered with food donations for area seniors. Jack is survived by siblings, Marjorie Darnell, Dan (Jayne) and David (Kathy) along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings, Thomas, Joyce Cypher, Irene Plunkett and Mary Hankins. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016, 9:30am at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. Interment with military honors will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation Friday from 6-8:00pm with a Rosary at 7:30pm. Memorial contributions may be given to Swedes Restaurant Food Donation Program, 89 W. Grand Ledge Highway, Mulliken, Michigan 48861.
