Ina Mae Lee Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ina Mae (Purvis) Lee, our Beautiful, dearly beloved Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend passed from this life July 28, 2022, leaving behind her brave struggles and pain and went across the veil to be greeted by her beloved husband of over 67 years, Roger. Mom was born November 15, 1935 in Sanilac County, raised on a farm near Applegate, Michigan, the daughter of Ruby (Wedge) and Robert Purvis. She and her older sister, Alice and younger brother, Bob each had chores to do. Mom’s were to gather eggs and feed her horse. Mom and dad met in high school, mom attended Cros-lex, dad was at Sandusky. Dad wrote of the very first time seeing mom, “She was the prettiest girl I’d ever seen.” They were married in October 1954 at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Sandusky and less than a year later they were off to Germany, as dad was in the army. A young woman, now pregnant with her first child and following her husband across the ocean and away from her family and friends. Dad always told us he had the utmost respect for and was amazed by mom’s bravery and sacrifices during that very difficult time for them. Mom and dad’s love and devotion for each other was beautiful and the anchor of our family for generations. Mom was caring, loving, giving, and self-sacrificing. She always put her family first and loved us all with her whole heart. We know that now both mom and dad are totally happy again and together forever. Ina Mae is survived by her 3 children; Marilyn (Jack Powers) Tansey, James (Leslie) Lee and Jeffrey (Kathy) Lee, 5grandchildren; Nicole (Todd Bresson) Lee, Kimberlee (Kevin) Davis, Krystina (Jake) Anderson, Koletin (Mallory Horton) Lee and Austin Lee, and 3 great grandchildren; Ty Anderson, Brayden and Dominik Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband; Roger Lee, her parents; Ruby and Robert Purvis; sister, Alice Kennedy; brother, Robert Purvis and her granddaughter; Kaylilyn S. Tansey. As per mom and dad’s wishes, a graveside service will be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, Sandusky, Michigan.
