Gerald H. Techentin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gerald Henry Techentin of Delta Township passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on October 23, 2021. Jerry was born February 9, 1931 in Howell, Michigan to the late Franklin H. and Wilma R. (Austin) Techentin. He graduated from Sexton High School Class of 1949 and then graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Jerry went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for General Motors at Fisher Body where he met the love of his life, Alice Martha Kudwa and they were united in marriage on May 17, 1958. Jerry was a charter member of St. Gerard Catholic Parish. He enjoyed wintering in Arizona, taking casino trips and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events with his late wife. He is survived by children, Luann (Tom) Nemitz, Sandy (Steve) Fent, Bob (Kelly) Techentin and Jon Techentin; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren, William, August and Emme. Jerry was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Alice who passed away on September 21, 2021 and his sister, Glenden Brim. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 1, 2021, 1:30 pm at St. Gerard Catholic Church by Father Mark Martin. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-3:00 pm and 5-7:00 pm with a Rosary at 2:30 pm at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge and Monday at the church from 12:30-1:30 pm.
