Gary Duane Rogers

November 22, 1943 - January 14, 2022

Gary D. Rogers of Edmore passed away unexpectedly at home on January 14, 2022. Gary was born November 22, 1943 in St. Louis, Michigan to the late Harold and Hope (Neigh) Rogers. He retired from GM after many years of service. Gary loved to hunt and fish. He looked forward to opening day of firearm season every year and taking the boat out fishing, especially the last few years at Fletchers Pond. Gary was a great story teller and anyone who knew him can remember him telling them a story about bagging a buck, shooting a turkey or catching a mess of panfish and of course the fish fry that soon followed. He will be remembered for his goofy antics and sometimes loud but unforgettable laugh. He enjoyed raising cattle, chickens for eggs, for many years had mules and made many friends as part of the mule club and also raised hounds for coon hunting. He is survived by his loving companion, Linda Beardslee; sons, Jeff (Tammy Gee), Gordon (Jennifer); Bill (LeAnn Beardslee); Bob (Kim) Beardslee and Bill Beardslee; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Lindsey) Rogers, Jodi Alvarez, Elizabeth (John) Lewis, Joseph Rogers, Jacob Rogers, Danielle (Drew) Burgren, Dalton Rogers, Jessica (Zach) Grandy, Tarrah (Jake) Gee-Bliss, Shane (Amber) Gee, Kayla (Katie) Gee-Doorn, Seth and Hayley Gee, November, Riley and Zach; 17 great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Jenison, Janet Nicholson, Ronnie (Dian) and Mona (Randy Mallory) Rausch; sister-in-law, Rozanna (David) Barclay; numerous nieces and nephews along with his black schnauzer, Sophie. Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon on December 25, 2009; one great grandson; 1 brother and 4 sisters. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 21, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at the M-46 Tabernacle, 11098 Howard City-Edmore, Riverdale, MI 48877.
