Frederick Charles LaLonde Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Frederick Charles LaLonde of Grand Ledge went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2021. Fred was born October 11, 1930 in Millington Twp., Tuscola Co., MI to the late James and Freelove (Hall) LaLonde. He retired from Owens Corning after 30 years as a Commercial Pipe Insulator. Fred was a longtime faithful member of Liberty Church. He spent many hours at the church serving as a greeter welcoming folks to church with a warm smile and firm handshake. Fred and his wife, Dorothy also ministered to the seniors for many years taking trips and scheduling activities making many cherished friendships over the years. In addition to helping his own church with repairs and maintenance, Fred also helped other churches in the area with many of the same things. Fred will be remembered for his love for the Lord and those around him and will be missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy (Coleman); children, Dale (Tracey) LaLonde and Rhenda (Kylle) Wood; step-children, Gilmer Lewis, Anna (La Marr) Pirkle, Vera (David) Davis, Cheryl (Bob) Stephens, Kathy (Bob) Schrader and Sandra (Jeff) Wilkinson; 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren along with his brother, Bruce. Fred was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Lynda Lewis; sisters, Joyce and Adalyn; brothers, Forrest, Ralph, Roy, Jack and Dick. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2021, 12:00pm at Liberty Church in Grand Ledge with Bishop David D. Stephens and Pastor Robert R. Fisher, officiating. Interment will follow at the Portland City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the church from 10:00am until the time of the service at 12:00pm.
