Alice Martha Techentin

January 19, 1934 - September 21, 2021

Alice Martha Techentin of Delta Township passed away September 21, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. Alice was one of thirteen children born on January 19, 1934 to the late George and Mary (Eckert) Kudwa and grew up on the family farm in the Upper Pennisula. She graduated from Forest Park High School in Crystal Falls, Michigan in the Class of 1951. After moving to Lansing, she became employed at General Motors as an Administrative Assistant where she met the love of her life, Jerry Techentin and they were united in marriage on May 17, 1958. Alice continued her administrative work and retired from the Waverly Public Schools. She was a faithful member of St. Gerard Parish and enjoyed taking trips to the casino and playing penny slots and wintering in Arizona for many years. She is survived by her husband of over 63 years, Gerald; children, Luann (Tom) Nemitz, Sandy (Steve) Fent, Bob (Kelly) Techentin and Jon Techentin; 12 grandchildren; great grandchildren, William, August and Emme; sister, Marge Caron along with many nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her sisters, Nell, Rose, Mary, Ernestine and Helen and brothers, Frank, George, John, Ed, Chester and Lou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 27, 2021, 1:30 pm at St. Gerard Catholic Church by Father Mark Martin. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-3:00 pm and 5-7:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge and Monday at the church from 12:30-1:30 pm.
