William F. Faulhaber

William (Bill) Frank Faulhaber, age 91, a resident of Independence Village in Grand Ledge, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday August 9, 2011. Bill passed away peacefully while in the compassionate care of his family with support from staff members at Hospice Advantage and Senior Home Care Solutions. The family will receive friends during visitation at the Holihan-Atkin Funeral Home in Grand Ledge on Thursday, August 11 from 6 – 8 p.m., Vigil 7:00pm. Visitation will also be available on Friday at 10 a.m. prior to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael Catholic Church in Grand Ledge. The Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jim Eisele officiating. Interment will be at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Bill was born on November 23, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois, to Evelyn (Ekberg) and Edward J. Faulhaber. He graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in accounting before joining the Navy. Bill served his country with pride in the South Pacific during World War II and received a Purple Heart. After leaving the military, he started his own accounting firm in Niles, MI. He was a lifelong Cubs fan, avid fisherman and always loved hearing a good joke. Bill joins his loving wife Geri who passed away in late May of this year. He was the step-father of Thomas (Kathy) Casey of West Branch, Iowa, Patrick Casey of Boise, Idaho, Pamela Casey of New Port Richey, Florida and Joni (Jim) Sandy of Delta Township; grandfather of eight: great grandfather of seven and great-great grandfather to one. Bill is also survived by four nieces and a nephew; Diane and Jim Tubbs of Raleigh, NC, Carol Faulhaber of Mill Valley, CA, Linda and Ron Nalepinski of Granger, IN., and Shirley and Dave Kolazar of Granger, IN and a nephew Edward Faulhaber of South Bend, IN. In addition to his wife of 44 years, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward.
