Thomas J. Weston

Thomas Jefferson Weston, PE (retired) of Grand Ledge passed away August 25, 2023 in Lansing. Tom was born August 4, 1942 in Santa Monica, California to the late Dr. Daniel and Mary “Agnes” (Zahn) Weston. He graduated from Saint Monica Catholic High School and attended the Santa Monica City College before finishing his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Michigan Tech. Tom worked as a registered professional engineer Civil Engineer for the State of Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. He was a longtime faithful member of St. Michael parish where he was also a fourth-degree Knight of Columbus Council 7311. Tom was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting guns and playing cards. He loved to travel and for more than the last decade he enjoyed many trips with his life partner, Doris Leland. He especially enjoyed the company of friends and family and looked forward to any activity that included the sharing of food and drink with those important to him. He is survived by his son, Tom; grandchildren, Luke, Grace and Ben Weston; life partner, Doris Leland; siblings, Dave (Laney) Weston, Mary Baine and Jeanie (Mark Maddox) Weston. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia on June 20, 2010 and his sister Diane Wagner in March of this year. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 1, 2023, 11:00 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church in Grand Ledge by The Reverend Fr. James Eisele. A private family interment at Oakwood Cemetery in Gand Ledge will be held. Visitation will be Thursday at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge from 4-7:00 PM with a Scripture Service at 7:00 PM and Friday at the church from 10-11:00 AM with a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Chalice Ceremony.
