Patrick Richard Dillon

Patrick Richard Dillon of Grand Ledge went to be with the Lord with his loving family by his side on December 19, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Pat was born September 5, 1947 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Richard and Selma (Heim) Dillon. He graduated from Holt High School Class of 1965 and served in the United States Air Force in Europe during the Vietnam War. Pat worked as a Parts Manager at a number of car dealerships over the years and retired in 2009. He was the former President and active member of the Holt Jaycees and also elected to serve as a Commissioner on the Delhi Township Parks and Recreation Board. Pat was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. He was a big sports fan and followed the Tigers and anything MSU, especially basketball and football. After retirement, Pat looked forward to golfing at Centennial Acres on a couple of leagues each week. He also traveled often with his wife Carol both within the country and around the world and enjoyed the adventure of seeing new places and learning about the history of the areas they visited. Pat loved to spend time with his family and would often host birthday parties and gatherings around the swimming pool in the back yard and would always make time to take one of the grandkids to and from work or attend one of their sporting events. He is survived by his wife, Carol Scherer; children, Scott (Sandy) Dillon and Dana (Jason) Barclay; step-daughters, Cynthia Scherer and Tanya (Chris) Lingo; grandchildren, Lindsey and Ethan Dillon and Aleigha Sutton, Caleb and Evelyn Barclay; John, Anne and Mary Cavenett; brother, Joe Dillon along with several nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Croley. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge.
