Marguerite Lucille Platte

Marguerite Lucille Platte, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, at the age of 88. She was born on April 6, 1936, in Woodland, MI, to the late Vernice and Lucille (Johnson) Raffler, and was one of ten cherished children in her family. Marguerite graduated from Woodland High School as a proud member of the Class of 1954. She devoted her life to raising her two wonderful children, Phillip and Kathryn, nurturing them with love and compassion. In her later years, she found fulfillment working at Tendercare - West, where she provided exceptional care and support for the residents, touching many lives with her kindness and gentle spirit. Her passions included tending to her vibrant flowers and cultivating her garden, where her love for nature flourished. She also enjoyed canning, turning the bounty of her garden into cherished family recipes that brought everyone together. Marguerite is survived by her daughter Kathryn (Michael Daniels) Platte and son Phillip (Tracy) Platte; grandchildren Kaitlyn E. Daniels, Joseph N. Daniels, William C.M. Daniels, Danielle R. (Luke) Kelley, and Zachary (Chelsea Zerias) Platte; and her dear brother, Marvin (Sue) Raffler. Each of these relationships was a testament to the love she poured into her family. A funeral service celebrating her life will take place on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8:00 PM and Wednesday from 12noon until the time of the service at 1:00 PM. Following the service a gathering to celebrate her life and have refreshments will take place at the Masonic Temple located at 200 W. River St in Grand Ledge. Marguerite will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery next to Delbert. Marguerite Lucille Platte will be remembered not only for her nurturing spirit but also for the profound impact she made on everyone lucky enough to know her. Her legacy of love and dedication to family will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
