Dorothea "Dot" Dennis

Dorothea Dennis, was born on October 27, 1933 in Flint, Michigan to Rev. Dr. Harold and Doris (Pickup) Watson. She passed away on February 7, 2025, and Our Queen of Hearts is now resting with the King of Hearts in Heaven, Jesus. Dot, attended Grand Ledge High School, dedicated her life to her family and her work in the beauty salon she owned and operated in Wacousta. She also worked at Decker & Co. and then the State of Michigan before she and her husband Donald of 51 years retired and moved to their second home on Crystal Lake. They also enjoyed 13 years of wintering in Florida meeting many new and treasured friends. She was known for her warm spirit and kind heart, spending countless hours playing cards with the Thirty-Niners and enjoyed playing bingo at McDonald's with her friends. Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dorothea leaves behind her sons Michael H. (Sandy) Dennis, Donald K. Dennis Jr. and daughter Pamela (Steve Smith) Brown, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren including Christian (Amy) Dennis, Chad (Annie) Dennis, Donald (Jamie) Dennis lll, Nicholas Brown, Andrea "Nikki" Foust, Jacob Dennis, Michael J. Dennis, Madison Dennis, Gunnar Dennis, Dakota Dennis, Abby Dennis, David Dennis, and Jack Willis along with great great-granddaughter, Lyla Dennis and her kitty, Roxi. Dorothea was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald K. Dennis Sr., and her siblings, Corporal Harold Watson Jr., and Kathleen (Jack) Powers. Her family will gather to celebrate her life on Saturday, February 15, 2025. There will be a visitation at Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge beginning at 10:00 am, and the funeral service at 12:00 pm.
