Dianne Marie Hobbs

Dianne Marie Hobbs, 63, of Delta Township went to be with the Lord on December 25, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Dianne was born April 21, 1959 in Clare, Michigan to Bertha (Davis) and the late Stephen Auer. She graduated from Gladwin High School and received both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in the college of Social Science. Dianne spent her life trying to change the world for the better and helping others through grants, programs and policies she helped write and develop. She always fought for the underdogs and people whom she felt did not have a voice. Dianne was a devoted Christian, and an amazing mother. We will especially miss her laugh, which could be heard from morning until night, with a smile that could make the worst day instantly better. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and we take comfort in knowing she went home to be with Jesus on Christmas morning. She loved being a Grandma, and she would spend a lot of time wrapping gifts, doing crafts, and making a mess in the kitchen with the grandkids. She was always the first one awake on Christmas morning waiting for the grandkids to see what Santa had brought. When raising her three children, she would always make Christmas very special each year. She taught them to always do for others and “give it to God”. Dianne loved all things water, lighthouses, mystery and police dramas, books and politics. She loved her grandkids more than anything in the world and always looked forward to watching their hockey games and events in person or via live stream. She will be incredibly missed. She is survived by her mother Bertha Auer, children, Karri Boulier (Nathan), Stephen Hobbs (Maddie) and Joseph Dean “JD” Hobbs; 6 grandsons; and brother, Steven Auer (Anna). A celebration of life service will be scheduled at a later time. Memorial contributions in Dianne’s name may be given to the Sparrow Foundation, Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, 1215 E.
