Connie Sue Ziglar

Connie Sue Ziglar of Grand Ledge went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and she will be greatly missed. Connie was born December 8, 1941 in Boaz, Alabama to the late Lonnie C. and Gertie L. (Wright) Curtis. After graduating high school, Connie worked for the Arrow Shirt Company in Alabama before moving to Michigan where she was employed at CEI Community Mental Health and the Holt United Methodist Church. Connie’s zeal for life and sunny disposition touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with. Her love for Jesus, her large family, as well as many close friends, was her focus. She blessed everyone with laughs, hugs, kind words of love and encouragement every day. Connie’s family would like to thank her special friends at Outback Steakhouse, Dr. Stephen Tepastte, Larry “Wayne” and Janie Fortino, the staff at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital, McLaren Hospice and her wonderful church family at GL First Assembly of God for all of the support and kindness they showed to Connie. She is survived by her husband of over thirty-four years, Richard; daughters, DarLynn (Reverend Timothy) Covert, Sonya (Donald) McMichael, Melodie Alzner and Beth (Richard) Marshall; grandchildren, Cristy (Joseph) Mayo, Amber (Mick) McCray, Sonia (Heine) Nzumafo, Amanda (Robert) Nelsen, Amy (Daniel) Henderson, Caleb McMichael, Michael Churchill, Travis McMichael, Molly (Toby) Brothers, Heather Alzner, Ryan McMichael, Leah (Nick) Fikkert and Mallory Marshall; great grandchildren, Davin Henderson, Tristen McCray, Auden Henderson, Shianne McMichael, Madelynn Nelsen, Emma McCray, Aiden Brothers, Luke Nelsen, Alexandra Mayo, Wyatt Brothers, Bradley Nelsen, Colton Mayo, Adrian Henderson, Brennan Henderson, Seth Nelsen, Kamyl Nzumafo and Roman Henderson; sister, Hazel Kirby; brother, Reverend M. Paul (Penny) Curtis along with numerous nieces and nephews. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, sons-in-law, Gerald Wells and Reverend Richard McMichael; sister-in-law, Carolyn Curtis and brother-in-law, Reverend G.F. Kirby. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 2, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God of Greater Lansing, 2717 West Road, East Lansing, MI 48823 with Reverend Timothy Covert, officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8:00 p.m. at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge and Friday at the church from 10-11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Lansing City Rescue Mission, 2216 S.
