Bruce Robert Richey

On the evening of March 9, 2023, God’s faithful servant, Bruce Robert Richey, entered into eternity with his Savior, Jesus Christ and reunited with his wife, Peg Richey. Bruce enjoyed many things including the outdoors, making maple syrup in his sugar bush, making apple cider with his cider press, raising chickens, having pets and admiring the work of his creator while standing in the center of the 10 acre property. Bruce also loved traveling with Peg before she passed away in March of 2009. They would travel all over the United States visiting historic places, national parks and visiting family. Bruce visited Kiev, Ukraine three times. Twice on mission trips as a companion with his daughter, Amy, and the other time traveling to see her when she resided in Kiev. Bruce would travel to see his son, Jon, daughter-in-law, Becky and grandchildren Hannah and Jacob when they lived in Northern California and South Dakota. He and Peg were ecstatic when Jon and Becky moved back to Michigan, which meant they would see their grandchildren on a regular basis. One could never know Bruce Richey without knowing the names Hannah and Jacob. His love for them was never ending. Bruce’s love for Jesus Christ was evident in his love for others. He was generous, kind, thoughtful and hospitable with others. He mentored people of all ages from elderly to infants, imparting wisdom and being certain they knew they were loved. There was never a morning Bruce did not have his Bible open and on his lap ready for interaction with Jesus. Bruce was born on April 9, 1932 in Holt, Michigan, grew up in Okemos, lived much of his married life in Grand Ledge and passed away in Byron Center. He is now reunited with his parents, brothers and sisters who have passed and his wife, Peg. Service times will be on Tuesday, March 14 at Grand Ledge Baptist Church as follows: 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Visitation 11:00 Memorial Service/Celebration of Life Luncheon immediately following the Memorial Service Graveside Service following the luncheon for those who wish to participate Donations by family and friends shall be made to the Creation Museum P.O.
